Shoulder Pain

The shoulder (glenohumeral) joint is one of the most complex regions in the human body.

The shoulder has many muscles that attach to it and is a common source of pain for the general population and is a commonly injured area for athletes, especially those who perform overhead movements. The rotator cuff muscles are typically the culprit of shoulder pain, however, conditions in the neck and upper back can also refer pain to the shoulder. That is why chiropractic care can be very beneficial for treating shoulder injuries, we not only look at the shoulder but will look at how the neck and back is functioning and how it could be contributing to your shoulder pain.

In the clinic, Dr. Newman will perform a thorough examination of your shoulder, neck, and upper back to determine the root cause of your shoulder pain. Once she has determined the diagnosis, she will work with you to put together a concise treatment plan that will address both the direct and indirect causes of your shoulder pain with an emphasis on strengthening and stabilizing the shoulder joint.
